Red&Blue FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laurențiu Șerbulescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ştefan Onciu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dumitru Gârneață, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iacob Ortacu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Ştefan Onciu made a huge save. Steluta Juniors's Iacob Ortacu got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, Red&Blue FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dumitru Gârneață came free, but Ştefan Onciu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Petru Izvoranu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Iacob Ortacu came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Steluta Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iacob Ortacu couldn't finish the play. Dumitru Gârneață received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Ştefan Onciu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iacob Ortacu got free with Ştefan Onciu in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dumitru Gârneață stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Iustin Neguțu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Ştefan Onciu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dumitru Gârneață in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ştefan Onciu prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
