Nicolae Aelenei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petru Izvoranu in the 3rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in ACS Catenaccio's zone, Laurențiu Șerbulescu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicolae Aelenei came out of the goal and Laurențiu Șerbulescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Petru Izvoranu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nicolae Aelenei was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Red&Blue FC's Ştefan Onciu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Antoniu in the 11th minute of play. 11 minutes into the game, Ionică Isaicu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Red&Blue FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ACS Catenaccio the free kick. A collision led to Red&Blue FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Ionică Isaicu hit a great ball. Laurențiu Șerbulescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 18thth minute of the game Laurențiu Șerbulescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ACS Catenaccio's Nicolae Aelenei was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 30 played minutes ACS Catenaccio got a freekick which was hit by Martin Burdujan. Red&Blue FC's Petruț Rogozea pulled a muscle in his leg after 41 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Valer Moșoiu fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ACS Catenaccio's protests and gave Valer Moșoiu a yellow card for diving instead. After 42 played minutes ACS Catenaccio got a freekick which was hit by Valer Moșoiu. Nicolae Aelenei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petru Izvoranu, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. A collision led to ACS Catenaccio getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Liviu Oprescu hit a great ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Robert Antoniu was the one to do the kick off. Costică Balaci's late challenge caught a ACS Catenaccio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Costică Balaci helped the player get up and apologised. In the 51st match minute, Red&Blue FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Costică Balaci to maneuver through the defense. Filip Fința kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. When ACS Catenaccio's Augustin Olteanu, in the 55th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for ACS Catenaccio. 57 minutes into the match, Red&Blue FC's goal looked a bit too open when Augustin Olteanu came free, but Ştefan Onciu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robert Antoniu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ştefan Onciu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Robert Antoniu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Ştefan Onciu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Petru Izvoranu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Petru Izvoranu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicolae Aelenei having to interfere. Augustin Olteanu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 76 minutes, Robert Antoniu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ACS Catenaccio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robert Antoniu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Robert Antoniu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ştefan Onciu was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augustin Olteanu in the 79th minute of play forced Red&Blue FC's goalkeeper Ştefan Onciu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Robert Antoniu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Ştefan Onciu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Augustin Olteanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ştefan Onciu having to interfere. During the 89th minute of the match Costică Balaci completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Costică Balaci a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of ACS Catenaccio booed when Red&Blue FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Costică Balaci didn't get a good kick on the ball. Robert Antoniu scored 1-0 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ştefan Onciu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Red&Blue FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for ACS Catenaccio.
