Spectators: 5839 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1739, VIP seats: 100) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Dumitru Gârneață got the match started through his kick off. After some careless play in the Covasna defense, Dumitru Gârneață kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Robert Filimon. The Covasna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Robert Filimon should have stopped the shot. Francisc Pantelimon hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Covasna's Robert Filimon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iacob Ortacu in the 12th minute of play. 15 minutes into the game, Iustin Neguțu threw the ball into play from the sideline. Covasna's Olimpiu Ciobanu quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Iustin Neguțu made in the 19th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Dorel Oravițan immediately put the ball in play. Robert Filimon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iacob Ortacu, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 21stth minute of the game Iacob Ortacu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Covasna's Robert Filimon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Nistor Spoială took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olimpiu Ciobanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Covasna's Ionel Zoreanu got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Robert Filimon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dumitru Gârneață in the 33rd minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, Dumitru Gârneață had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Robert Filimon. Covasna's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dumitru Gârneață was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Robert Filimon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dumitru Gârneață in the 39th minute of the match. Iacob Ortacu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dumitru Gârneață fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robert Filimon having to interfere. In the 46th minute Iacob Ortacu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robert Filimon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Dumitru Gârneață received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Robert Filimon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iacob Ortacu's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Robert Filimon firmly grabbed it by the left post. With a little luck, Covasna's Robert Filimon got control of the ball when Iacob Ortacu tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Steluta Juniors's Dumitru Gârneață got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 93rd minute of the match, Iacob Ortacu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Robert Filimon was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Robert Filimon made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Iacob Ortacu sent off a good shot on target.
