Nicolae Aelenei was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Panait Armeanca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Nicolae Aelenei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicolae Aelenei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ştefan Stroiescu in the 21st minute of play. Petre Mărăscu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robert Antoniu in the 22nd minute of play. Robert Antoniu might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Petre Mărăscu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robert Antoniu ran back to his position shaking his head. After 29 played minutes ACS Catenaccio got a freekick which was hit by Sergiu Tapalagă. In the 30th minute of the match Basarab Floruțiu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nicolae Aelenei showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Ştefan Stroiescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Panait Armeanca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ştefan Stroiescu might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nicolae Aelenei. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ştefan Stroiescu ran back to his position shaking his head. Nicolae Aelenei didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Panait Armeanca went, in the 46th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Robert Antoniu to make the kick off. Augustin Olteanu's late challenge caught a FC Burebista's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Augustin Olteanu helped the player get up and apologised. Augustin Olteanu hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. ACS Catenaccio's Nicolae Aelenei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Panait Armeanca in the 55th minute of play. After taking down the ball on FC Burebista's corner Basarab Floruțiu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nicolae Aelenei quite easily take care of the ball. With a little luck, ACS Catenaccio's Nicolae Aelenei got control of the ball when Ştefan Stroiescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nicolae Aelenei had great luck who in the 66thth minute grab hold of the ball when Panait Armeanca from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Nicolae Aelenei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Panait Armeanca, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. ACS Catenaccio's Nicolae Aelenei proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save ACS Catenaccio from getting a goal against them. After 81 played minutes ACS Catenaccio got a freekick which was hit by Tiberiu Zeciu. ACS Catenaccio's Nicolae Aelenei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Panait Armeanca in the 86th minute of play. 92 minutes into the game, ACS Catenaccio's Robert Antoniu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Petre Mărăscu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Burebista walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
