Spectators: 6724 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1724, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Matei Chevereșan kicked off to start the match. 5 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Chimindia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Augustin Unchiaşu was slow to take the kick. During this time Fc Steaua's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Augustin Unchiaşu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Chimindia's Gabriel Tunaru did a great save. 8 minutes into the match, Nicu Urdoi notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of FC Chimindia's Gabriel Tunaru. Gabriel Tunaru was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Matei Chevereșan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 20 minutes into the match, FC Chimindia's goal looked a bit too open when Nicu Urdoi came free, but Gabriel Tunaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Iosif Poplăcean got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dacian Horodincă's late challenge caught a Fc Steaua's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dacian Horodincă helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, FC Chimindia's Dacian Horodincă got a free kick in the 24th minute. Fc Steaua's Grigore Opriș got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in FC Chimindia's zone, Grigore Opriș stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gabriel Tunaru came out of the goal and Grigore Opriș tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the FC Chimindia defense, Grigore Opriș kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gabriel Tunaru. The FC Chimindia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gabriel Tunaru should have stopped the shot. Nicu Urdoi struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Gabriel Tunaru didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fc Steaua. In the 46th minute, Grigore Opriș got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half Fc Steaua were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nicu Urdoi to strike the kick off in the second half. After 58 played minutes, FC Chimindia's Vali Udup shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Radu Olariu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Chimindia reached it. In the 59th match minute, Fc Steaua was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicu Călin to maneuver through the defense. Radu Olariu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iosif Poplăcean in the 61st minute of the match. In the 63rd minute Iosif Poplăcean shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Radu Olariu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 69 minutes, Iosif Poplăcean made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Fc Steaua's Radu Olariu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Gabriel Tunaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicu Urdoi in the 78th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Iosif Poplăcean's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Radu Olariu was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. In the 84th minute, Nicu Călin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 87 minutes, Matei Chevereșan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Chimindia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matei Chevereșan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 89 played minutes Fc Steaua got a freekick which was hit by Gavril Irimia. Radu Olariu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iosif Poplăcean, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 95 minutes into the game, Iosif Gavrilă was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fc Steaua's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Chimindia the free kick. In the 96th minute, Iosif Gavrilă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matei Chevereșan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Radu Olariu having to interfere. The FC Chimindia supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Fc Steaua's performance. The match ended with a win for Fc Steaua.
