Spectators: 6829 (Terracing: 5729, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Stelian Bocaneț started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Costică Mudura in the 3rd minute of play forced Reschitza's goalkeeper Marin Urdeş to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reschitza's Vali Ţeica got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 36 minutes into the match, AS Roma Braila's goalkeeper Petru Todericiu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stelian Bocaneț. David Verzeanu was shown his second yellow card after 39 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Reschitza booed when AS Roma Braila was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Verzeanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marin Urdeş showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Costică Mudura, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. AS Roma Braila's defense didn't have a chance, in the 47th minute, when Vali Ţeica scored to the left of an out of position Petru Todericiu, making the score, 1-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pavel Oțeteleșanu to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, AS Roma Braila's Mihăiţă Ungureanu got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After 54 played minutes, Reschitza's Vali Ţeica shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Petru Todericiu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Reschitza reached it. AS Roma Braila's Petru Todericiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stelian Bocaneț in the 87th minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Reschitza's goalkeeper Marin Urdeş had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sandu Chiriacescu. Petru Todericiu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stelian Bocaneț's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. Ştefan Chivulescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Petru Todericiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
