Argintari CSM's supporters rose to their feet, but Alex Brad was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicodim Grămescu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 21 minutes into the match, ASU Politehnica Timisoara's goalkeeper Nicodim Grămescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ernest Mateianu. In the 22nd match minute, ASU Politehnica Timisoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Octavian Sângeorzan to maneuver through the defense. If Ernest Mateianu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alex Brad to make the kick off.
