Spectators: 7608 (Terracing: 5823, Seating: 1785, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Ferdinand Toacsen made the kick off which started today's match. 4 minutes into the match, Tekerghiol's goal looked a bit too open when Gică Bâru came free, but Mihai Frumuzache reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 6th minute, Nicolae Sălcudeanu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dorel Lupșoiu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. When Paul Bernea came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the FC UNIREA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paul Bernea couldn't finish the play. FC UNIREA's Dorel Lupșoiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolae Sălcudeanu in the 12th minute of play. If Paul Bernea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mihai Frumuzache stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ferdinand Toacsen's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. FC UNIREA's Dorel Lupșoiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alin Neața in the 18th minute of play. Mihai Frumuzache came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by FC UNIREA's Ferdinand Toacsen. But to his dismay, Ferdinand Toacsen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Gică Bâru blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mihai Frumuzache having to make a save. Tekerghiol's Mihai Frumuzache proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Tekerghiol from getting a goal against them. Dorel Lupșoiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolae Sălcudeanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Mihai Frumuzache managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when FC UNIREA's Paul Bernea fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Through an outstanding action, after 31 minutes, Mihai Frumuzache successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 32 minutes into the game, Tekerghiol's Alin Neața nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dorel Lupșoiu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. If Ovidiu Petrean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paul Bernea succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-2 in the 37th playminute. Dorel Lupșoiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolae Sălcudeanu in the 41st minute of play. In the 44th match minute, Tekerghiol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mircea Rogozea to maneuver through the defense. If Paul Bernea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Ovidiu Petrean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alin Neața could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Dorel Lupșoiu made a huge save. Mihai Frumuzache showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdinand Toacsen in the 58th minute of the match. 60 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA's goalkeeper Dorel Lupșoiu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alin Neața. In the 62nd match minute, Tekerghiol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolae Sălcudeanu to maneuver through the defense. 66 minutes into the match, Paul Bernea had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mihai Frumuzache. Tekerghiol's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paul Bernea was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Dorel Lupșoiu made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Alin Neața sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ferdinand Toacsen in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mihai Frumuzache saved Tekerghiol from getting behind. In the 72nd match minute, Tekerghiol was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Codruț Druță to maneuver through the defense. 74 minutes into the game, Tekerghiol's Alin Neața nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dorel Lupșoiu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. In the 85th minute, Ferdinand Toacsen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 87 minutes, Ovidiu Petrean managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC UNIREA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ovidiu Petrean was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dragoş Chirtoacă's late challenge caught a FC UNIREA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dragoş Chirtoacă helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Tekerghiol's Dragoş Chirtoacă got a free kick in the 91st minute. FC UNIREA's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
