After a defensive mix-up in FC Steaua's zone, Aron Mihaiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rareș Dumitru came out of the goal and Aron Mihaiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Remus Boacă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgil Nebunu in the 10th minute of play. After 13 minutes, Matei Cudalb mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the christian team and the FC Steaua players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to christian team getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Matei Cudalb hit a great ball. Iacob Mihaiu hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. The supporters of FC Steaua booed when christian team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iacob Mihaiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Costin Goicea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remus Boacă having to interfere. FC Steaua's Virgil Nebunu got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rareș Dumitru made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Aron Mihaiu sent off a good shot on target. 40 minutes into the game, Cătălin Predoiu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. christian team's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Steaua the free kick. A collision led to christian team getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Cătălin Predoiu hit a great ball. Remus Boacă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costin Goicea in the 41st minute of play. Virgil Nebunu struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Remus Boacă didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Steaua. After 44 played minutes christian team got a freekick which was hit by Cătălin Predoiu. The supporters of FC Steaua booed when christian team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matei Cudalb didn't get a good kick on the ball. Costin Goicea received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Remus Boacă tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Costin Goicea was the one to do the kick off. Remus Boacă didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 51st minute, which inside left pole to 0-1. Costică Azamfirei hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the match, christian team's goalkeeper Remus Boacă had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Virgil Nebunu. 64 minutes into the match, christian team's goal looked a bit too open when Costin Goicea came free, but Remus Boacă reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iacob Mihaiu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rareș Dumitru having to make a save. If Aron Mihaiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Remus Boacă was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Adrian Neghină. Aron Mihaiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Rareș Dumitru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The FC Steaua supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FC Steaua would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
