After 3 played minutes Licuriciu got a freekick which was hit by Gheorghe Câmpeanu. When Mihai Voinea fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Delta Tulcea's protests and gave Mihai Voinea a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th match minute, Delta Tulcea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mihai Voinea to maneuver through the defense. In the 6th minute, Cazimir Zglimbea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Licuriciu's Irinel Staicu in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Delta Tulcea's goalie prevented a goal. Horaţiu Oravițan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cazimir Zglimbea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 13 minutes, Damian Rădescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Licuriciu and the Delta Tulcea players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ioan Stratulat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Irinel Staicu in the 15th minute of play. Cazimir Zglimbea charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cazimir Zglimbea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 17th match minute, Delta Tulcea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cazimir Zglimbea to maneuver through the defense. In the 19thth minute of the game Irinel Staicu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Delta Tulcea's Ioan Stratulat was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Delta Tulcea's Toader Melentie got a free kick in the 20th minute. Paul Feroiu hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. A hard shot 38 in the game by Cazimir Zglimbea from a close distance when the talented Horaţiu Oravițan managed to make a qualified save. Licuriciu's players were relieved. Ioan Stratulat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eugen Grozuță in the 39th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Delta Tulcea's zone, Eugen Grozuță stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ioan Stratulat came out of the goal and Eugen Grozuță tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 46 minutes, Irinel Staicu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Licuriciu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Irinel Staicu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Delta Tulcea players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Licuriciu were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Irinel Staicu was the one to do the kick off. Ioan Stratulat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gheorghe Câmpeanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gheorghe Câmpeanu was extremely unlucky when he, in the 53rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Irinel Staicu in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ioan Stratulat saved Delta Tulcea from getting behind. Gheorghe Câmpeanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ioan Stratulat having to interfere. Delta Tulcea's Emilian Ţugui pulled a muscle in his leg after 66 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Remus Lăzan's late challenge caught a Delta Tulcea's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Remus Lăzan helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Licuriciu's Remus Lăzan got a free kick in the 67th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Delta Tulcea's Corneliu Nae sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Horaţiu Oravițan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Delta Tulcea were awarded a corner in the 73th minute after Licuriciu's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Petrică Ailenei took the corner. In the 77th minute, Cazimir Zglimbea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Licuriciu booed when Delta Tulcea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrei Bălășescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ioan Stratulat stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Irinel Staicu's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. Irinel Staicu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ioan Stratulat having to interfere. Eugen Grozuță fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ioan Stratulat having to interfere. In the 91st minute Irinel Staicu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ioan Stratulat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Irinel Staicu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Licuriciu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. With an all-out effort, Licuriciu's Ioan Stratulat threw himself towards the right post 96 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Eugen Grozuță, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The supporters of Licuriciu booed when Delta Tulcea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihai Voinea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ioan Stratulat was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 98th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Valentin Ghiondea. When the match was over Licuriciu could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Delta Tulcea throughout the match.
