Narcis Pantelimon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Aurel Tofan kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Nae Hârțan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 29th minute, Dacian Drâmbă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was a well-played corner which Gheorghe Stănoiu managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 33rd minute, Leo Doro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 36 minutes into the match, FC Super Fortuna's goal looked a bit too open when Nae Hârțan came free, but Narcis Pantelimon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to FC Super Fortuna getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Aurel Tofan hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Virgil Teodoroiu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Narcis Pantelimon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leo Doro in the 55th minute of the match. Nae Hârțan took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Narcis Pantelimon. Narcis Pantelimon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Leo Doro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Leo Doro managed to get in a good position for a shot. CS UNIVERSATEA CRAIOVA's supporters rose to their feet, but Leo Doro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Narcis Pantelimon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in FC Super Fortuna's zone, Nae Hârțan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Narcis Pantelimon came out of the goal and Nae Hârțan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 81 played minutes FC Super Fortuna got a freekick which was hit by Tiberiu Dedu. In the 84th minute, Nae Hârțan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CS UNIVERSATEA CRAIOVA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Narcis Pantelimon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Doro, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albin Frisk in the 93rd minute of play forced CS UNIVERSATEA CRAIOVA's goalkeeper Cornel Filimon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Savu's late challenge caught a CS UNIVERSATEA CRAIOVA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniel Savu helped the player get up and apologised. CS UNIVERSATEA CRAIOVA's Valeriu Baniciu was substituted for George Vlăsiu. In the 98th match minute, FC Super Fortuna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Savu to maneuver through the defense. CS UNIVERSATEA CRAIOVA's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
