In the 5th minute, Mihnea Bala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marin Buciuman kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Mircea Udroiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolae Şania in the 15th minute of the match. In the 18th minute, Gigi Săvoiu made a precise shot to the right of Fábio Veiga. Uliesul's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Grigore Năsturel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Fábio Veiga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Uliesul's zone, Grigore Năsturel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fábio Veiga came out of the goal and Grigore Năsturel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Grigore Năsturel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fábio Veiga having to interfere. Uliesul's Fábio Veiga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Uliesul from getting a goal against them. Gigi Săvoiu took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fábio Veiga. Fábio Veiga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Marin Buciuman's late challenge caught a Uliesul's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marin Buciuman helped the player get up and apologised. GSBC Cluj-Napoca's Gigi Săvoiu got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of GSBC Cluj-Napoca booed when Uliesul was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Justo Buinton didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 52nd minute, Gigi Săvoiu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fábio Veiga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grigore Năsturel in the 55th minute of play. Calistrat Stănciulaş fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fábio Veiga having to interfere. A collision led to Uliesul getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Eliodor Balaban hit a great ball. When Mihnea Bala came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Uliesul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mihnea Bala couldn't finish the play. If Grigore Năsturel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The GSBC Cluj-Napoca fans cheered their team off the field, for while Uliesul had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
