Spectators: 7722 (Terracing: 5792, Seating: 1776, VIP seats: 154) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Lucian Tonegaru started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Sabin Măcriș managed to get in a good position for a shot. Samsud's supporters rose to their feet, but Sabin Măcriș was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paul Dorlea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paul Dorlea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sabin Măcriș, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th minute Sabin Măcriș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Dorlea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 13 minutes into the match, AS Energia Stolnici's goal looked a bit too open when Petre Stoicănescu came free, but Paul Dorlea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Samsud's Liviu Benga got a free kick in the 14th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Samsud's zone, Octavian Chitoran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Liviu Gâgea came out of the goal and Octavian Chitoran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petre Stoicănescu in the 18th minute of play forced AS Energia Stolnici's goalkeeper Paul Dorlea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sabin Măcriș took the ball and in the 25 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Paul Dorlea. Paul Dorlea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. AS Energia Stolnici's Paul Dorlea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sabin Măcriș in the 34th minute of play. Paul Dorlea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Petre Stoicănescu's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. In the 39th minute Sabin Măcriș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Dorlea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sabin Măcriș struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Paul Dorlea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Samsud. Paul Dorlea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Petre Stoicănescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 45 minutes, Tudor Pascu took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Liviu Gâgea to make any attempt to save it.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sabin Măcriș to make the kick off. Petre Stoicănescu came free with the goalkeeper in the 54th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Paul Dorlea could save by the left post. Paul Dorlea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sabin Măcriș in the 57th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Samsud's Paul Dorlea threw himself towards the right post 59 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Sabin Măcriș, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Liviu Gâgea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucian Tonegaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 66th minute of the match AS Energia Stolnici got a corner. Samsud's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Octavian Chitoran ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led AS Energia Stolnici's Octavian Chitoran to fire away a dangerous shot which Liviu Gâgea despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 76th minute Sabin Măcriș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Dorlea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petre Stoicănescu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 79thth minute, Paul Dorlea skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. AS Energia Stolnici's Paul Dorlea proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save AS Energia Stolnici from getting a goal against them. In the 95th minute Sabin Măcriș shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Dorlea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samsud's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
