If Calistrat Stănciulaş had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Gigi Săvoiu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paul Dorlea was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, GSBC Cluj-Napoca's Dumitru Barbăsură got a free kick in the 15th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucian Tonegaru in the 18th minute of play forced GSBC Cluj-Napoca's goalkeeper Mircea Udroiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute, Grigore Năsturel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paul Dorlea was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Valentin Hidiș had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Calistrat Stănciulaş sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gigi Săvoiu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paul Dorlea having to make a save. Grigore Năsturel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paul Dorlea didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valentin Hidiș went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lucian Tonegaru was the one to do the kick off. Mircea Udroiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marius Druga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marius Druga took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mircea Udroiu. Mircea Udroiu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Grigore Năsturel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cezar Bântu hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. 67 minutes into the match, AS Energia Stolnici's goal looked a bit too open when Calistrat Stănciulaş came free, but Paul Dorlea reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Grigore Năsturel got free with Paul Dorlea in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marius Druga struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Mircea Udroiu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AS Energia Stolnici. Grigore Năsturel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Paul Dorlea having to make a save. If Grigore Năsturel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind AS Energia Stolnici's goalkeeper Paul Dorlea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 86th minute, Calistrat Stănciulaş hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of AS Energia Stolnici booed when GSBC Cluj-Napoca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marin Buciuman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Grigore Năsturel struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Paul Dorlea didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GSBC Cluj-Napoca. Grigore Năsturel, 97 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The AS Energia Stolnici fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. GSBC Cluj-Napoca were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
