Spectators: 7717 (Terracing: 5789, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 154) Venezia FC's Basarab Ceaușu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Venezia FC's Augustin Vişan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valer Ghionea in the 3rd minute of play. The supporters of Venezia FC booed when S.S. Lazio Craiova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sandu Lopatnicu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Basarab Ceaușus short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Octavian Manole to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 13th minute, Mihăiţă Gugulanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With his leg Octavian Manole managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Venezia FC's Basarab Ceaușu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 16 minutes into the game, Mihăiţă Gugulanu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Octavian Manole. Mihăiţă Gugulanu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Sandu Lopatnicu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augustin Vişan having to interfere. In the 30th minute of the match, Mihăiţă Gugulanu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Octavian Manole saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 32nd minute, Codruț Zeciu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Basarab Ceaușu got free with Octavian Manole in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Octavian Manole showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mihăiţă Gugulanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. If Basarab Ceaușu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Octavian Manole made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Basarab Ceaușu sent off a good shot on target. In the last second Octavian Manole throw himself and got hold of the ball when Basarab Ceaușu in the 46thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After taking down the ball on Venezia FC's corner Valer Bornescu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Octavian Manole quite easily take care of the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valer Ghionea to make the kick off. Basarab Ceaușu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Octavian Manole tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Mihăiţă Gugulanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Basarab Ceaușu in the 57th minute of play forced S.S. Lazio Craiova's goalkeeper Octavian Manole to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Basarab Ceaușu in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Octavian Manole saved S.S. Lazio Craiova from getting behind. Basarab Ceaușu might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Octavian Manole. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Basarab Ceaușu ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Basarab Ceaușu in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Octavian Manole prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ioan Boroneanț kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Lazio Craiova's Octavian Manole tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 80 minutes into the game, Basarab Ceaușu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Octavian Manole was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mihăiţă Gugulanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavian Manole having to interfere. Basarab Ceaușu might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Octavian Manole. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Basarab Ceaușu ran back to his position shaking his head. Venezia FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
