Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Basarab Odobescu started the match with the kick off. After 6 minutes of play, FC Xander's Basarab Odobescu made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mugur Zărnescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! A hard shot 12 in the game by Cazimir Mușat from a close distance when the talented Horaţiu Gherdan managed to make a qualified save. FC Xander's players were relieved. When Nistor Brătescu came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the ASU Poli Timisoara fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nistor Brătescu couldn't finish the play. Horaţiu Gherdan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cazimir Mușat went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Nistor Brătescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vasile Dascălu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Mugur Zărnescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mugur Zărnescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basarab Odobescu in the 34th minute of play. The supporters of FC Xander booed when ASU Poli Timisoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iacob Turdeanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vasile Dascălu in the 36th minute of play forced ASU Poli Timisoara's goalkeeper Mugur Zărnescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horaţiu Gherdan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nistor Brătescu in the 38th minute. The supporters of FC Xander booed when ASU Poli Timisoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rareș Bărbânță didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the match, ASU Poli Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Basarab Odobescu came free, but Mugur Zărnescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, FC Xander's Horaţiu Gherdan got control of the ball when Nistor Brătescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. The wind increased when Codrin Magherescu made the kick off in the second half. FC Xander's Horaţiu Gherdan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cazimir Mușat in the 58th minute of play. Codrin Magherescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iacob Turdeanu was shown his second yellow card after 67 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Iacob Turdeanu hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Vasile Dascălu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Mugur Zărnescu made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Nistor Brătescu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Horaţiu Gherdan was relentless in the 73rd minute of the game. After 80 minutes of play, ASU Poli Timisoara's Codrin Magherescu made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Horaţiu Gherdan was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, ASU Poli Timisoara's Tiberiu Pogea got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Horaţiu Gherdan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Codrin Magherescu in the 85th minute of play. Basarab Odobescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
