Fabian Demian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 5 minutes into the match, UFC Avantul 06 Resita's goal looked a bit too open when Dorin Brănescu came free, but Nechifor Lupoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olimpiu Butnaru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgil Onea in the 10th minute of play forced F.C. Ripensia Timişoara's goalkeeper Fabian Demian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dorin Brănescu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nechifor Lupoi having to make a save. Octav Ţirpescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Virgil Onea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute, Mugur Uncheşelu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Octav Ţirpescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nechifor Lupoi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. Octav Ţirpescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Virgil Onea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 46 minutes into the match, F.C. Ripensia Timişoara's Octav Ţirpescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nechifor Lupoi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. F.C. Ripensia Timişoara's Dorin Brănescu got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Olimpiu Butnaru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Denis Mailat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 54 minutes into the match, Olimpiu Butnaru notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of F.C. Ripensia Timişoara's Fabian Demian. Fabian Demian was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nechifor Lupoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Octav Ţirpescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Virgil Onea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Olimpiu Butnaru in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabian Demian prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fabian Demian made an important save on a dangerous shot by Virgil Onea in the 69th minute. After having played for 71 minutes, Olimpiu Butnaru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UFC Avantul 06 Resita's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olimpiu Butnaru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Virgil Onea came free with the goalkeeper in the 73rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Fabian Demian could save by the left post. In the 75th minute, Olimpiu Butnaru got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Olimpiu Butnaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mugur Uncheşelu kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Olimpiu Butnaru managed to get in a good position for a shot. UFC Avantul 06 Resita's supporters rose to their feet, but Olimpiu Butnaru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabian Demian breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mădălin Fărcășan kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Nechifor Lupoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octav Ţirpescu in the 84th minute of play. Virgil Onea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Fabian Demian made a huge save. The supporters of F.C. Ripensia Timişoara booed when UFC Avantul 06 Resita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucrețiu Necșulescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match was over UFC Avantul 06 Resita could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than F.C. Ripensia Timişoara throughout the match.
