The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 2nd minute of the game. One of FC Miroslava:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Steaua Nordului:s goal. When the match had been going on for 4 minutes, Steaua Nordului's Eric Titulescu got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Eduard Covrig. In the 13th minute, Eric Titulescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Miroslava's Eduard Covrig proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save FC Miroslava from getting a goal against them. Eric Titulescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eduard Covrig read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. With a little luck, FC Miroslava's Eduard Covrig got control of the ball when Eric Titulescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Steaua Nordului booed when FC Miroslava was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valer Culiță didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eric Titulescu in the 24thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eduard Covrig, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Alexandru Bușcu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eduard Covrig having to make a save. Valer Culiță fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihnea Maniu having to interfere. Eduard Covrig was out of position in the 44 minute of play, and Alexandru Bușcu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alexandru Bușcu really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Valer Culiță was the one to do the kick off. Liviu Bobeica took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mihnea Maniu. Mihnea Maniu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 57th minute, Eliodor Urdoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of FC Miroslava booed when Steaua Nordului was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisc Zberea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mihnea Maniu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valer Culiță in the 61st minute of play. When Eliodor Urdoi fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Steaua Nordului's protests and gave Eliodor Urdoi a yellow card for diving instead. Mihnea Maniu came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by FC Miroslava's Costin Ciompec. But to his dismay, Costin Ciompec quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. The supporters of FC Miroslava booed when Steaua Nordului was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliodor Urdoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mihnea Maniu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valer Culiță, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valer Culiță sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of FC Miroslava booed when Steaua Nordului was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Corneliu Mironov didn't get a good kick on the ball. 79 minutes into the match, Steaua Nordului's goalkeeper Mihnea Maniu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Liviu Bobeica. The crowd rose to their feet as Narcis Tudose kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mihnea Maniu. That made the score 2-3 in the 80 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Florin Ştefulescu got free with Mihnea Maniu in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Steaua Nordului's Dan Ilinca got a free kick in the 90th minute. Liviu Bobeica fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mihnea Maniu having to interfere. FC Miroslava's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
