In the 7thth minute of the game Sever Chelaru who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Academia M.Balan's Narcis Şantău was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 8th minute, David Guriță left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Steaua Bucuresti fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iacob Erbașu in the 11th minute of play forced Steaua Bucuresti's goalkeeper Valer Corduneanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Sever Chelaru's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Narcis Şantău was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Radu Panaite in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Narcis Şantău saved Academia M.Balan from getting behind. Valer Corduneanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisc Casian in the 21st minute of the match. Academia M.Balan's Alin Dinescu suffered a concussion in the 21st minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Nistor Aluneanu charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nistor Aluneanu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 22 played minutes Steaua Bucuresti got a freekick which was hit by Nistor Aluneanu. When Sever Chelaru came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Steaua Bucuresti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sever Chelaru couldn't finish the play. 25 minutes into the game, Steaua Bucuresti's Radu Panaite nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Narcis Şantău made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Academia M.Balan's Narcis Şantău played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sever Chelaru in the 30th minute of play. 34 minutes into the game, Basarab Neicu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Narcis Şantău was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Steaua Bucuresti booed when Academia M.Balan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iurie Marchiș didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute of the match Marcu Şoimaru sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valer Corduneanu skillfully saved the ball. When Radu Panaite came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Steaua Bucuresti fans jumped to their feet. Narcis Şantău made an important save on a dangerous shot by Basarab Neicu in the 80th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Radu Panaite got free with Narcis Şantău in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Narcis Şantău stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of David Guriță's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Radu Panaite's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 84thth minute, Narcis Şantău skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 91st minute, Steaua Bucuresti's Sever Chelaru dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-7. The Academia M.Balan fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Steaua Bucuresti were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
