Edgar Praporgescu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iacob Mironescu having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eric Costin got free with Nicolae Petrin in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nicolae Petrin made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Eric Costin sent off a good shot on target. When Ilie Zdrelea came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Zgaroesti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ilie Zdrelea couldn't finish the play. In the 17th match minute, The Squad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petru Georgescu to maneuver through the defense. Iacob Mironescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Praporgescu in the 18th minute of the match. Pavel Smarandache struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Iacob Mironescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zgaroesti. If Laurențiu Patrichi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Squad's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eric Costin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mădălin Zmărăndescu charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mădălin Zmărăndescu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of The Squad booed when Zgaroesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mădălin Zmărăndescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Marius Spineanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Squad's supporters rose to their feet, but Marius Spineanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicolae Petrin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 42nd minute, The Squad's Adam Poplăcan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nicolae Petrin. Nicolae Petrin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0.

The wind increased when Silviu Dulfu made the kick off in the second half. Edgar Praporgescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 53 played minutes The Squad got a freekick which was hit by Costică Tătaru. In the 54th minute, Edgar Praporgescu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Iacob Mironescu. The goal made the score 2-1. Silviu Dulfu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nicolae Petrin having to make a save. In the 64th minute, Edgar Praporgescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Ilie Zdrelea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicolae Petrin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eric Costin in the 78th minute of play. Iacob Mironescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viorel Hurmuzache, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iacob Mironescu made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Edgar Praporgescu sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pavel Smarandache got free with Iacob Mironescu in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
