In the 13th minute, Radu Mendrea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the match, The Squad's goal looked a bit too open when Lento Phoenix came free, but Iacob Mironescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Fabian Şiman fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RETRO FC's protests and gave Fabian Şiman a yellow card for diving instead. Fabian Şiman kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Rafael Txatxu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silviu Dulfu, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute, The Squad's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Eduard Racoviță fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 31 minutes into the match, The Squad's goalkeeper Iacob Mironescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eduard Racoviță. Adam Poplăcan charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adam Poplăcan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Eduard Racoviță succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 33rd playminute. In the 37th minute the ball was on its way in behind RETRO FC's goalkeeper Rafael Txatxu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 39th minute, Per-Åke Lindberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 41st minute Per-Åke Lindberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iacob Mironescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Petru Georgescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iacob Mironescu stood somewhat misplaced when Eduard Racoviță came free in front of goal and shot 3-0 to the left of him in the 45 minute. The supporters of The Squad booed when RETRO FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per-Åke Lindberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Silviu Dulfu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Șerban Stroe charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. RETRO FC were awarded a corner in the 60th minute after The Squad's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Per-Åke Lindberg took the corner. After taking down the ball on RETRO FC's corner Per-Åke Lindberg fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Iacob Mironescu quite easily take care of the ball. After some careless play in the The Squad defense, Lento Phoenix kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iacob Mironescu. The The Squad fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iacob Mironescu should have stopped the shot. Iacob Mironescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lento Phoenix, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Per-Åke Lindberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Iacob Mironescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iacob Mironescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lento Phoenix went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. Assis Doro hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Marius Spineanu shot the penalty kick right outside the post. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for RETRO FC. When the match had been going on for 98 minutes, The Squad's Marius Spineanu got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Rafael Txatxu. When the referee ended the match the RETRO FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
