In the 2nd minute, Liviu Călinescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 5th minute, Ferdinand Dijmărescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aristide Poplăcan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Glyn Sugden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Horea Socoriceanu managed to avoid a goal in the 11thth minute, when Davidoaia's Sergiu Şteţ fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Davidoaia's Necati Akkaya got a free kick in the 16th minute. Horea Socoriceanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Liviu Călinescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 27th match minute, Braseu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pavel Purcaru to maneuver through the defense. Horea Socoriceanu was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Necati Akkaya. Horea Socoriceanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergiu Şteţ in the 29th minute of play. Sergiu Şteţ recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 35 minutes, Necati Akkaya mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Davidoaia and the Braseu players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Braseu booed when Davidoaia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Mereuță didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Manole Dumitrache made a kick off. 50 minutes into the match, Braseu's goal looked a bit too open when Sergiu Şteţ came free, but Horea Socoriceanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 55 minutes into the game, Davidoaia's Cristian Mereuță nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Horea Socoriceanu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 58th minute, Aristide Poplăcan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Necati Akkaya took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 72nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Horea Socoriceanu. Braseu's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Cristian Mereuță took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Horea Socoriceanu. Horea Socoriceanu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Horea Socoriceanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergiu Şteţ, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Pavel Purcaru fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Braseu's protests and gave Pavel Purcaru a yellow card for diving instead. In the 79th match minute, Braseu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pavel Purcaru to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Braseu booed when Davidoaia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurel Traian didn't get a good kick on the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Liviu Călinescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Horea Socoriceanu. Braseu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Liviu Călinescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. 90 minutes into the match, Braseu's goal looked a bit too open when Liviu Călinescu came free, but Horea Socoriceanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aurel Traian charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aurel Traian the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 92nd minute, one of Davidoaia:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Davidoaia. After 93 minutes Davidoaia's goalkeeper Glyn Sugden managed, with a little bit of luck, save Manole Dumitrache's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. Manole Dumitrache took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Glyn Sugden. Glyn Sugden dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Sergiu Şteţ managed to get in a good position for a shot. Davidoaia's supporters rose to their feet, but Sergiu Şteţ was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Horea Socoriceanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Braseu getting a freekick after 99 minutes play. Pavel Purcaru hit a great ball.
