Spectators: 7153 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 153) Horaţiu Anastasiu started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Cornel Nanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodor Budișteanu having to interfere. After having played for 10 minutes, Liviu Chițu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Perchiu CF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Liviu Chițu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Horaţiu Anastasiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cornel Nanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodor Budișteanu having to interfere. Perchiu CF's Nicodim Robu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Perchiu CF from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Perchiu CF's Nicodim Robu got control of the ball when Dorin Munteanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Horaţiu Anastasiu struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Teodor Budișteanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Perchiu CF. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Cornel Nanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Perchiu CF's supporters rose to their feet, but Cornel Nanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teodor Budișteanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nicodim Robu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Călin Calciu, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Racul's zone, Horaţiu Anastasiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teodor Budișteanu came out of the goal and Horaţiu Anastasiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Liviu Chițu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodor Budișteanu having to interfere. In the 38th minute Cornel Nanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodor Budișteanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute, Anton Huștea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nicodim Robu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Toader Enășoiu in the 45th minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Călin Calciu to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Racul's Corneliu Istrăteanu got a free kick in the 54th minute. 57 minutes into the game, Horaţiu Anastasiu lined in a short shot 0-1 behind a frustrated Teodor Budișteanu. When Liviu Chițu fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Perchiu CF's protests and gave Liviu Chițu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 62nd minute, Liviu Chițu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Călin Calciu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Liviu Chițu was shown his second yellow card after 64 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 65th match minute, Perchiu CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Liviu Chițu to maneuver through the defense. After 66 played minutes, Racul's Corneliu Istrăteanu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Nicodim Robu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Racul reached it. Ionuț Comăneci blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Teodor Budișteanu having to make a save. Cornel Nanu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Teodor Budișteanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Nicodim Robu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Călin Calciu went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Perchiu CF's zone, Toader Enășoiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicodim Robu came out of the goal and Toader Enășoiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Bacalu in the 87th minute of play forced Perchiu CF's goalkeeper Nicodim Robu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in Perchiu CF fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 91st minute. Penalty! The referee gave Racul a penalty, 93 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Corneliu Istrăteanu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Perchiu CF's Nicodim Robu. 3-1. Nicodim Robu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toader Enășoiu in the 96th minute of play. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Racul were victorious despite being under pressure from Perchiu CF for much of the match.
