After a defensive mix-up in Steaua's zone, Valer Mândru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isac Râznicu came out of the goal and Valer Mândru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Godwin Fiott in the 16th minute of play forced Steaua's goalkeeper Isac Râznicu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexandru Maia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Isac Râznicu having to make a save. When Martin Zgaroi fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Timișoara's protests and gave Martin Zgaroi a yellow card for diving instead. If Alexandru Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teodor Feroiu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Costel Ghizdeanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Godwin Fiott had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The Club Atlético Timișoara fans' excitement grew in the 35th match minute when Club Atlético Timișoara's Alexandru Maia looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 62ndth minute of the game Alexandru Maia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Steaua's Isac Râznicu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Valer Mândru kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Teodor Feroiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicodim Orădan in the 66th minute of play. Israel Ricoy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Club Atlético Timișoara getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Martin Zgaroi hit a great ball. Ilie Aanuţei took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 70th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Teodor Feroiu. Club Atlético Timișoara's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. When Olimpiu Tecău fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Steaua's protests and gave Olimpiu Tecău a yellow card for diving instead. Olimpiu Tecău kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Godwin Fiott got free with Isac Râznicu in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Steaua getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Petruț Alexandrescu hit a great ball. 77 minutes into the game, Godwin Fiott cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-7. Isac Râznicu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Steaua's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Alexandru Maia 80 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-8. The audience thought a goal was coming when Godwin Fiott got free with Isac Râznicu in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Steaua getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Petruț Alexandrescu hit a great ball. Martin Zgaroi kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. After 88 played minutes, Steaua's Ilie Aanuţei shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Teodor Feroiu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Steaua reached it. In the 89th minute, Petruț Alexandrescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Steaua's zone, Godwin Fiott stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isac Râznicu came out of the goal and Godwin Fiott tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 92 minutes into the match, Alexandru Maia notched a goal, 0-9, to the right of Steaua's Isac Râznicu. Isac Râznicu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A long shot from Gheorghe Micu in the 96th minute of play was well struck, but Isac Râznicu made a really good save at the right post. Club Atlético Timișoara played a much better game than Steaua and deserved their victory. The Steaua players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
