Spectators: 7674 (Terracing: 5756, Seating: 1765, VIP seats: 153) Steaua's Costel Ghizdeanu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Virgil Macovei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costel Ghizdeanu in the 4th minute of play. After having played for 5 minutes, Costel Ghizdeanu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Steaua's supporters crossed their fingers, but Costel Ghizdeanu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Veveritele Ucigase -MM-'s zone, Nicodim Orădan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Virgil Macovei came out of the goal and Nicodim Orădan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Veveritele Ucigase -MM-'s Virgil Macovei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costel Ghizdeanu in the 8th minute of play. Nicodim Orădan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Virgil Macovei read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. If Rareș Hârtopanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isac Râznicu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rareș Hârtopanu's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. After 21 minutes, Ion Muntian made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Steaua's Isac Râznicu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 25th minute, Nicodim Orădan made a precise shot to the right of Virgil Macovei. Veveritele Ucigase -MM-'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Isac Râznicu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mugurel Manafu in the 28th minute. Edgar Drumeș kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Costel Ghizdeanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Steaua's supporters rose to their feet, but Costel Ghizdeanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Virgil Macovei breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 39 played minutes Veveritele Ucigase -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Tiberiu Vişan. Costel Ghizdeanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Macovei having to interfere. If Costel Ghizdeanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rareș Hârtopanu to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Petruț Alexandrescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Veveritele Ucigase -MM-'s Virgil Macovei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petruț Alexandrescu in the 54th minute of play. Ion Muntian recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Costel Ghizdeanu came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Steaua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Costel Ghizdeanu couldn't finish the play. Costel Ghizdeanu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Virgil Macovei having to interfere. Virgil Macovei didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 63rd minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. Ion Muntian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isac Râznicu having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Costel Ghizdeanu in the 71st minute of play forced Veveritele Ucigase -MM-'s goalkeeper Virgil Macovei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute of the match Steaua got a corner. Veveritele Ucigase -MM-'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ilie Aanuţei ran over to the corner to take the kick. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Costel Ghizdeanu advanced and headed the ball into goal, 1-4 in the 73rd minute. Petruț Alexandrescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Virgil Macovei made a huge save. The supporters of Steaua booed when Veveritele Ucigase -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiberiu Vişan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Veveritele Ucigase -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Costel Ghizdeanu came free, but Virgil Macovei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Steaua's zone, Rareș Hârtopanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isac Râznicu came out of the goal and Rareș Hârtopanu tried to chip the ball over his head. A very good chance. The Veveritele Ucigase -MM- fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Steaua were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
