Nichifor Benga hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. Cristian Ivasiuc kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. If Emilian Tărău had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gigel Cismarescu kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Gigi Todoran struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Cazimir Marincean didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barbossa. After a rather tough play, FC POLI TIMISOARA's Manuel Culiță got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 18th match minute, FC POLI TIMISOARA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Culiță to maneuver through the defense. 32 minutes into the match, Barbossa's goal looked a bit too open when Alexandru Maghear came free, but Marcel Bilașco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cazimir Marincean made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisc Iliuță in the 35th minute. 37 minutes into the match, Irinel Breazu notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Barbossa's Marcel Bilașco. Marcel Bilașco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The wind increased when Narcis Mardare made the kick off in the second half. Marcel Bilașco made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Robert Nestor sent off a good shot on target. Cazimir Marincean showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horia Georgescu in the 58th minute of the match. In the 60th match minute, FC POLI TIMISOARA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robert Nestor to maneuver through the defense. FC POLI TIMISOARA's Cazimir Marincean played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Narcis Mardare in the 61st minute of play. Cazimir Marincean took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisc Iliuță, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Horia Georgescu's late challenge caught a FC POLI TIMISOARA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Horia Georgescu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Barbossa booed when FC POLI TIMISOARA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilian Tărău didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Barbossa's Aron Arnăuțoiu got a free kick in the 78th minute. After 81st play minutes Francisc Iliuță shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Cazimir Marincean and just under the crossbar into goal. 85 minutes into the game, Narcis Mardare cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Cazimir Marincean was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 88 minutes into the match, FC POLI TIMISOARA's goal looked a bit too open when Narcis Mardare came free, but Cazimir Marincean reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 91 minutes into the match, Narcis Mardare had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cazimir Marincean. FC POLI TIMISOARA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Narcis Mardare was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. 95 minutes into the match, Barbossa's goalkeeper Marcel Bilașco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Robert Nestor. Barbossa's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
