After recieving a nice pass, Barbossa's Gigi Todoran tried to score from far away in the 4th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Marcel Bilașco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valer Bojin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Teodor Udrea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Francisc Iliuță sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mihnea Şerbănescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Ion Pacuraru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the game, Gigel Cismarescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barbossa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave F.C. Gornea-CS the free kick. After 31 minutes of play, F.C. Gornea-CS's Valer Bojin made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcel Bilașco was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Valer Bojin in the 34th minute of play forced Barbossa's goalkeeper Marcel Bilașco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ion Pacuraru made an important save on a dangerous shot by Narcis Mardare in the 36th minute. F.C. Gornea-CS's Ion Pacuraru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save F.C. Gornea-CS from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albert Filipașcu in the 39th minute of play forced Barbossa's goalkeeper Marcel Bilașco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Manuel Udrişte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

In the 56th match minute, F.C. Gornea-CS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristinel Bala to maneuver through the defense. F.C. Gornea-CS's Ion Pacuraru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Narcis Mardare in the 61st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Narcis Mardare in the 63rd minute of play forced F.C. Gornea-CS's goalkeeper Ion Pacuraru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 64 minutes, Narcis Mardare made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. F.C. Gornea-CS's Ion Pacuraru tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 70th match minute, Barbossa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mihnea Şerbănescu to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Albert Filipașcu in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcel Bilașco saved Barbossa from getting behind. In the 87thth minute of the game Narcis Mardare who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but F.C. Gornea-CS's Ion Pacuraru was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Horia Georgescu's late challenge caught a F.C. Gornea-CS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Horia Georgescu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 88th match minute, Barbossa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horia Georgescu to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Barbossa's Marcel Bilașco got control of the ball when Călin Hapaina tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Udrişte in the 93rd minute of play forced Barbossa's goalkeeper Marcel Bilașco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
