Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Francisc Bostan started the match with the kick off. In the 6th minute Sergiu Povară shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcu Onișoru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 10th minute, Valer Erbașu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hotin fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Marcu Onișoru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octav Lazăr in the 13th minute of play. After some careless play in the Popteleac defense, Octav Lazăr kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcu Onișoru. The Popteleac fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcu Onișoru should have stopped the shot. Viorel Cangeopol made in the 24th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Nistor Iorga immediately put the ball in play. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Nistor Iorga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hotin's supporters rose to their feet, but Nistor Iorga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcu Onișoru breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Popteleac's Tudor Gafița got a free kick in the 32nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gabriel Belu during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 47th match minute, Hotin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Belu to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nistor Iorga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 63 minutes into the game, Valer Erbașu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hotin's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Popteleac the free kick. Valer Erbașu hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Octav Lazăr received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Marcu Onișoru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th match minute, Popteleac was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Călin Itu to maneuver through the defense. Marcu Onișoru came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Hotin's Valer Erbașu. But to his dismay, Valer Erbașu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 91st match minute, Popteleac was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ionică Ulici to maneuver through the defense. Nistor Iorga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcu Onișoru having to make a save. Popteleac's Marcu Onișoru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Popteleac from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Popteleac getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Moise Rogozea hit a great ball. After 97 played minutes, Hotin's Sergiu Povară shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marcu Onișoru came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hotin reached it. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Hotin had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
