The shot missed the goal on the right side and Denis Pavalescu ran dejectedly back to his position. After 5 played minutes Brusturoasa got a freekick which was hit by Valeriu Vâtcu. Mihail Tulbures short, quick shot in the 8thth minute got Albert Chesaru to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Augustin Mailat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Bocaneț having to interfere. 14 minutes into the game, Narcis Chițu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SSC Steaua's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brusturoasa the free kick. Narcis Chițu hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Brânza in the 19th minute of play forced SSC Steaua's goalkeeper Adrian Bocaneț to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SSC Steaua's zone, George Brânza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrian Bocaneț came out of the goal and George Brânza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mihail Tulbure blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Albert Chesaru having to make a save. If Denis Pavalescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mihail Tulbure sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 43 minutes into the game, Mugur Isăcescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SSC Steaua's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brusturoasa the free kick. After a rather tough play, SSC Steaua's Mugur Isăcescu got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. George Brânza's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 71stth minute, Adrian Bocaneț skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If George Brânza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. SSC Steaua's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Augustin Mailat 79 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. SSC Steaua's Narcis Chițu got his second yellow card of the match in the 84th minute. The referee ordered Narcis Chițu off the ground. Narcis Chițu kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. If Augustin Mailat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
