After 4 minutes, Mugur Isăcescu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SSC Steaua and the TNL Sector 3 players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 4 played minutes SSC Steaua got a freekick which was hit by Mugur Isăcescu. Adrian Bocaneț took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valer Ficsinescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SSC Steaua's Mihail Tulbure got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Valer Ficsinescu managed to get in a good position for a shot. TNL Sector 3's supporters rose to their feet, but Valer Ficsinescu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adrian Bocaneț breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Sabin Inculeț managed to get in a good position for a shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Denis Pavalescu made a kick off. Sabin Inculeț received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Adrian Bocaneț tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 52 played minutes SSC Steaua got a freekick which was hit by Mugur Isăcescu. Adrian Bocaneț showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sabin Inculeț, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. 56 minutes into the match, SSC Steaua's Denis Pavalescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Petre Purcărete narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 59th minute, SSC Steaua's Denis Pavalescu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Petre Purcărete. Denis Pavalescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Petre Purcărete showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denis Pavalescu in the 88th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valer Ficsinescu in the 93rd minute of play forced SSC Steaua's goalkeeper Adrian Bocaneț to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Denis Pavalescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SSC Steaua walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
