Alexandri's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC ARGES the free kick. After a rather tough play, Alexandri's Nichifor Vlas got a free kick in the 6th minute. After having played for 8 minutes, Matei Zbârnea managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC ARGES's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matei Zbârnea was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Alexandri's zone, Matei Zbârnea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gică Constantinescu came out of the goal and Matei Zbârnea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Matei Zbârnea had several of the Alexandri's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 12 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Gică Constantinescu as he didn't even see the shot coming. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aurelian Berechet during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gelu Zubaşcu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 25 in the game by Tudor Pășcuțoiu from a close distance when the talented Gică Constantinescu managed to make a qualified save. Alexandri's players were relieved. Alexandri's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Matei Zbârnea 26 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. After some careless play in the Alexandri defense, Matei Zbârnea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gică Constantinescu. The Alexandri fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gică Constantinescu should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Matei Zbârnea's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gică Constantinescu was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. 39 minutes into the match, FC ARGES's Tudor Pășcuțoiu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gică Constantinescu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mircea Maghear hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Alexandri's zone, Matei Zbârnea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gică Constantinescu came out of the goal and Matei Zbârnea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ion Torouţ sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The wind increased when Ion Torouţ made the kick off in the second half. Gică Constantinescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matei Zbârnea in the 59th minute of the match. In the 61st minute Ion Torouţ shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrian Carp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Adrian Iuonaș hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When FC ARGES's Matei Zbârnea in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Alexandri's goalie prevented a goal. Alexandri's Gică Constantinescu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Cristinel Cosor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute, Mugurel Căliman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gelu Zubaşcu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC ARGES fans cheered their team off the field, for while Alexandri had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
