Spectators: 7721 (Terracing: 5792, Seating: 1775, VIP seats: 154) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Augustin Cosoroabă started the match with the kick off. Stelian Balint fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisc Ţeica having to interfere. Maxim Pop hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Rapid FC's Francisc Ţeica played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolae Brumaru in the 10th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Augustin Cosoroabă ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ferdinand Rizescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexandru Creteanu in the 17th minute of play forced Rapid FC's goalkeeper Francisc Ţeica to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stelian Balint struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Francisc Ţeica didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carpato Danubiano Pontic. 20 minutes into the match, Carpato Danubiano Pontic's goal looked a bit too open when Mircea Alamaru came free, but Ferdinand Rizescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mihăiţă Lupu kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Augustin Cosoroabă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Ferdinand Rizescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Rapid FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Nicolae Brumaru fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 31st minute, Nicolae Brumaru made a precise shot to the right of Francisc Ţeica. Rapid FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 34th minute, Stelian Balint got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stelian Balint to strike the kick off in the second half. After 60 played minutes Augustin Cosoroabă rounded Carpato Danubiano Pontic's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. Ferdinand Rizescu was a little too slow when Mircea Alamaru got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 63rd minute. The score was now 1-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Nicolae Brumaru managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carpato Danubiano Pontic's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicolae Brumaru was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francisc Ţeica breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mircea Alamaru's late challenge caught a Carpato Danubiano Pontic's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mircea Alamaru helped the player get up and apologised. After 86 played minutes Rapid FC got a freekick which was hit by Mircea Alamaru. The audience was convinced that Stelian Balint's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Francisc Ţeica was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. In the 89th minute, Stelian Balint got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Carpato Danubiano Pontic's Ferdinand Rizescu got control of the ball when Maxim Pop tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 94 minutes, Rareș Corvin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carpato Danubiano Pontic and the Rapid FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 93rd minute, one of Carpato Danubiano Pontic:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Carpato Danubiano Pontic. Rapid FC's Maxim Pop got a good chance for a goal in the 99th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Rapid FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Rapid FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
