After 7 played minutes Cavalerii Viola got a freekick which was hit by Codrin Chițac. Eric Rizescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ole-Einar Skåre, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 12th minute, Matei Stancu made a precise shot to the right of Eric Rizescu. Cavalerii Viola's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 18th match minute, Cavalerii Viola was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gică Jucu to maneuver through the defense. If Ole-Einar Skåre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ole-Einar Skåre in the 23rd minute of play forced Cavalerii Viola's goalkeeper Eric Rizescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Cavalerii Viola's goal looked a bit too open when Gabriel Florean came free, but Eric Rizescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 27th minute, Cavalerii Viola's Lucian Mărculescu dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Cavalerii Viola's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eelco Nieuwburg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Eric Rizescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ole-Einar Skåre in the 44th minute of play. Gabriel Florean took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eric Rizescu. Eric Rizescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. After the first half CLUB GALATI were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Moise Zbârnea to strike the kick off in the second half. Eelco Nieuwburg in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Eric Rizescu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Gabriel Florean could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Eric Rizescu made a huge save. Eric Rizescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ole-Einar Skåre went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. 64 minutes into the match, Cavalerii Viola's goalkeeper Eric Rizescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ole-Einar Skåre. 66 minutes into the match, Cavalerii Viola's goalkeeper Eric Rizescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eelco Nieuwburg. In the 68th minute Nechifor Dordea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eric Rizescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ole-Einar Skåre got free with Eric Rizescu in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eric Rizescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ole-Einar Skåre in the 83rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Matei Stancu kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Eric Rizescu. That made the score 1-9 in the 84 minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 87th minute by Nechifor Dordea got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Eric Rizescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ole-Einar Skåre went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-10 was the resulting score. Ole-Einar Skåre took the ball and in the 97 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eric Rizescu. Eric Rizescu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-11. CLUB GALATI's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
