Doru Dănănae's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ilie Marghescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Slobozia FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Doru Dănănae was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 48th minute Calistrat Lovin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilie Marghescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 49th minute Steaua Bucuresti were awarded a corner. Calistrat Lovin went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Steaua Bucuresti's Marcel Enachescu to a score. 3-0 in the 49th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The supporters of Slobozia FC booed when Steaua Bucuresti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristi Corduneanu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Slobozia FC's Artur Walec tried to score from far away in the 55th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 61 minutes, Remus Dudea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Steaua Bucuresti and the Slobozia FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Steaua Bucuresti's Remus Dudea got a free kick in the 61st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergiu Zgrăbunţa in the 62nd minute of play forced Steaua Bucuresti's goalkeeper Hami Geçer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
