With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vasile Dragomir in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuel Lucănescu saved Jonis from getting behind. A collision led to Jonis getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Radu Tastaman hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Vasile Dragomir's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emanuel Lucănescu was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. Mihăiţă Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Radu Tastaman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Emanuel Lucănescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vasile Dragomir in the 31st minute. When Stelian Apopei fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jonis's protests and gave Stelian Apopei a yellow card for diving instead. After 33 played minutes Jonis got a freekick which was hit by Stelian Apopei. Emanuel Lucănescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ştefan Costin in the 34th minute of the match. If Jared Crook had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alexandru Abrudan kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. In the 47th minute, Ioan Tătăruşanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andrew Daly was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vasile Dragomir in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emanuel Lucănescu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Emanuel Lucănescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ştefan Costin in the 58th minute of play. In the 59th minute, one of Adevarul Pur:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Adevarul Pur. Adevarul Pur:s Bogdan Ghimpu showed great skill when he stopped Stelian Apopei:s penalty. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ştefan Costin in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuel Lucănescu saved Jonis from getting behind. The supporters of Adevarul Pur booed when Jonis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Radu Tastaman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Toader Brad took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 67th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Emanuel Lucănescu. Jonis's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Emanuel Lucănescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ştefan Costin in the 73rd minute of play. Alexandru Abrudan kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Pompiliu Cobzeanu hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Emanuel Lucănescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bogdan Ghimpu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrew Daly in the 87th minute of the match. When Adevarul Pur's Vasile Dragomir in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jonis's goalie prevented a goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
