After a defensive mix-up in FC Chelsea's zone, Herbert Kolacki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valentin Tudoran came out of the goal and Herbert Kolacki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FC Chelsea's Valentin Tudoran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herbert Kolacki in the 16th minute of play. If Herbert Kolacki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute Petrică Poplăcan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vasile Arsenescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cipanul FC's Vasile Arsenescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petrică Poplăcan in the 25th minute of play. After the first half Cipanul FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nae Costin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, FC Chelsea's Valentin Tudoran got control of the ball when Herbert Kolacki tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Cipanul FC booed when FC Chelsea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horea Cârneci didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matei Tender could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Valentin Tudoran made a huge save. Nae Costin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Valentin Tudoran read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. 94 minutes into the game, Nae Costin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Valentin Tudoran. Nae Costin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. The FC Chelsea fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Cipanul FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
