Ştefan Ifrim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-6. When Iurie Miclescu came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Rapid Bucharest fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iurie Miclescu couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Rapid Bucharest booed when BlueLionesse was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marlon Brando didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kasper Ververs hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The BlueLionesse players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
