With an all-out effort, Sterpoaia CS's Bernd Van Leemputten threw himself towards the right post 10 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Valeriu Povară, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 10 minutes into the match, Cosimo Deva's goal looked a bit too open when Valeriu Povară came free, but Bernd Van Leemputten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valeriu Povară in the 12th minute of play forced Cosimo Deva's goalkeeper Bernd Van Leemputten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernd Van Leemputten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valeriu Povară, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Sterpoaia CS's Frederick Kallquist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horia Stan in the 17th minute of play. Valeriu Bodea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Bernd Van Leemputten made a huge save. 25 minutes into the match, Sterpoaia CS's goal looked a bit too open when Horia Stan came free, but Frederick Kallquist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sterpoaia CS's zone, Andrei Pușcașu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frederick Kallquist came out of the goal and Andrei Pușcașu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 34 minutes into the game, Sandu Arvinte threw the ball into play from the sideline. Cosimo Deva's Dan Zamfirescu quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After a rather tough play, Sterpoaia CS's Marcu Ardelean got a free kick in the 35th minute. Andrei Pușcașu struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Frederick Kallquist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cosimo Deva. Alin Taşcu charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alin Taşcu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 37th match minute, Sterpoaia CS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alin Taşcu to maneuver through the defense. Frederick Kallquist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrei Pușcașu in the 42nd minute of the match. Frederick Kallquist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrei Pușcașu, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Bernd Van Leemputten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iacob Turcescu in the 46th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Andrei Pușcașu to strike the kick off in the second half. Dorin Pantilimon kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After 59 played minutes Sterpoaia CS got a freekick which was hit by Valeriu Povară. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horia Stan in the 67th minute of play forced Sterpoaia CS's goalkeeper Frederick Kallquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Andrei Pușcașu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 81 minutes into the match, Cosimo Deva's goal looked a bit too open when Iacob Turcescu came free, but Bernd Van Leemputten reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Cosimo Deva's Andrei Pușcașu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Frederick Kallquist. That made the score 0-2 after 82 minutes of play. Frederick Kallquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horia Stan in the 87th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horia Stan in the 88th minute of play forced Sterpoaia CS's goalkeeper Frederick Kallquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th match minute, Sterpoaia CS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandu Arvinte to maneuver through the defense. Gigel Pașcanu's late challenge caught a Sterpoaia CS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gigel Pașcanu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 93rd minute, Andrei Pușcașu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cosimo Deva played a much better game than Sterpoaia CS and deserved their victory. The Sterpoaia CS players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
