Ionel Mitu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 15thth minute tested the skills of Doru Opaina when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 18 minutes into the game, Zé Paulo Zanette recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Doru Opaina. Zé Paulo Zanette showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Aron Sandu sped through OTELUL GALATI's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Mehmet Efe Vafi. 25 minutes into the match, FC Barcelona's goal looked a bit too open when Rareș Păstrăv came free, but Doru Opaina reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.
