OTELUL GALATI's Mehmet Efe Vafi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save OTELUL GALATI from getting a goal against them. When Zé Paulo Zanette came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the OTELUL GALATI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Paulo Zanette couldn't finish the play. In the 15th minute, Zé Paulo Zanette made a precise shot to the right of Victor Suluțiu. Sterpoaia CS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Sterpoaia CS's Victor Suluțiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cătălin Hidișan in the 18th minute of play. In the 19th minute Zé Paulo Zanette shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victor Suluțiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Victor Suluțiu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cătălin Hidișan, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Victor Suluțiu came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by OTELUL GALATI's Cătălin Hidișan. But to his dismay, Cătălin Hidișan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ionel Mitu in the 27th minute of play forced Sterpoaia CS's goalkeeper Victor Suluțiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iacob Turcescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Mehmet Efe Vafi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Victor Suluțiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cătălin Hidișan in the 35th minute of the match. Victor Suluțiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ionel Mitu in the 37th minute of play. The audience held their breath when Rareș Păstrăv in the 41st minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Victor Suluțiu's left hand side. Victor Suluțiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Paulo Zanette in the 45th minute of play. After the first half OTELUL GALATI were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Paulo Zanette in the 51st minute of play forced Sterpoaia CS's goalkeeper Victor Suluțiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 51 minutes into the game, Iacob Turcescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sterpoaia CS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave OTELUL GALATI the free kick. In the 83rd match minute, Sterpoaia CS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgil Bîndean to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Sterpoaia CS booed when OTELUL GALATI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandru Trifănucă didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Paulo Zanette sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. OTELUL GALATI's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
