FC Fanaticii's Mihai Măliță suffered a concussion after 20 minutes and had to leave the field. After 20 minutes, Dorin Baicu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the UFC Sarlotenburg and the FC Fanaticii players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 24th minute of the match FC Fanaticii got a corner. UFC Sarlotenburg's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eric Apostu ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led FC Fanaticii's Eric Apostu to fire away a dangerous shot which Ernest Drogoreanu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Andrei Pavel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolae Măgureanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, FC Fanaticii's goal looked a bit too open when Alin Baniu came free, but Andrei Pavel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alin Baniu to make the kick off. In the 58th minute Marius Ganea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernest Drogoreanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Alin Baniu came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the UFC Sarlotenburg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alin Baniu couldn't finish the play. From a short distance, UFC Sarlotenburg's Alin Baniu, in the 90th minute, tried to place the ball behind Andrei Pavel, but the ball hit the right post on the wrong side and went out. Andrei Pavel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicolae Măgureanu in the 92nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in UFC Sarlotenburg's zone, Marius Ganea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernest Drogoreanu came out of the goal and Marius Ganea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 96th minute, Maxim Magheran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marius Ganea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernest Drogoreanu having to interfere.
