When Petrică Chificeac came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Romania fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petrică Chificeac couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cazimir Pătran in the 22nd minute of play forced Eintracht Cernavoda's goalkeeper Ionică Corcoveanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 85thth minute of the game Gică Slavici who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Romania's Leontin Racoviceanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Goasdoue in the 87th minute of play forced Romania's goalkeeper Leontin Racoviceanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Gică Slavici had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gică Slavici in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leontin Racoviceanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole.
