But to his dismay, Adrian Isbășoiu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dumitru Panciu during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 47th minute, Adrian Isbășoiu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romania's Radu Penescu was substituted for Andrei Marioara. Adrian Isbășoiu hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match.

Leontin Racoviceanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrian Isbășoiu, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Viktor Axelsson scored 0-3 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leontin Racoviceanu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Leontin Racoviceanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrian Isbășoiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Romania's Leontin Racoviceanu got control of the ball when Alfonso Irureta tried to sneak it across the goal line. Leontin Racoviceanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Ciolofan in the 70th minute. 74 minutes into the game, Adrian Isbășoiu recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Leontin Racoviceanu. Adrian Isbășoiu showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. FC MCM made a substitution. Cătălin Agulescu replaced Viktor Axelsson. After some careless play in the Romania defense, Adrian Isbășoiu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leontin Racoviceanu. The Romania fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leontin Racoviceanu should have stopped the shot. After 83 minutes FC MCM's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Manole Valerian who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Petrică Chificeac heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Adrian Isbășoiu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Leontin Racoviceanu came out and tried to block the shot, but Adrian Isbășoiu slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 88th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cătălin Agulescu got free with Leontin Racoviceanu in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adrian Isbășoiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leontin Racoviceanu having to interfere. In the 95thth minute of the game Vali Cârnu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Romania's Leontin Racoviceanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When FC MCM's Vali Cârnu in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Romania's goalie prevented a goal. 96 minutes into the match, Vali Cârnu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leontin Racoviceanu. Romania's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vali Cârnu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-8. When the final whistle sounded FC MCM left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Romania.
