The ball had pretty good speed, but Frank Lauria firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 26th minute, Ahmet Turan Kantürk ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Toader Bran was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 38 minutes into the match, Champions Iasi's goalkeeper Frank Lauria had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sever Logofătu. After having played for 40 minutes, Corneliu Lupescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Champions Iasi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Corneliu Lupescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Champions Iasi:s Frank Lauria showed great skill when he stopped Petruț Boaru:s penalty. CRAIOVA JUNIOR's Toader Bran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iustin Coporan in the 48th minute of play.

The wind increased when Iustin Coporan made the kick off in the second half. Frank Lauria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petruț Boaru in the 52nd minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Champions Iasi had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
