Spectators: 8591 (Terracing: 6444, Seating: 1976, VIP seats: 171) An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurel Teodoroiu in the 2nd minute of play forced UM Timisoara's goalkeeper Juan Gaitan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of FC PIETROSUL -MM- booed when UM Timisoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mădălin Busuioc didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vlad Ghionaru kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, UM Timisoara's Ionică Bădilescu threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Paul Ghimpu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ionică Bădilescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Weterio, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 14th minute UM Timisoara were awarded a corner. Mihail Basarab went to the cornerflag to take it. UM Timisoara's Leo Weterio was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ionică Bădilescu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. UM Timisoara's Leo Weterio was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 14th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 18 minutes into the match, FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Leo Weterio came free, but Ionică Bădilescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Aurel Teodoroiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the match, FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s goalkeeper Ionică Bădilescu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paul Mirea. In the 24th minute, Aurelian Odobescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aurel Teodoroiu scored 1-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Juan Gaitan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ionică Bădilescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ernest Oardă in the 30th minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, UM Timisoara's Leo Weterio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ionică Bădilescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. With a little luck, FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Ionică Bădilescu got control of the ball when Leo Weterio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ionică Bădilescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leo Weterio, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 41st minute of the match UM Timisoara got a corner. FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mihail Basarab ran over to the corner to take the kick. Vlad Ghionaru was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 43rdth minute of the game Aurel Teodoroiu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but UM Timisoara's Juan Gaitan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Juan Gaitan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aurel Teodoroiu's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Ionică Bădilescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save FC PIETROSUL -MM- from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

FC PIETROSUL -MM- made a substitution. Nicolae Bosioc replaced Aurelian Odobescu. FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Cristi Ciprian was substituted for Emil Ştoia. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leo Weterio to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the FC PIETROSUL -MM- defense, Paul Mirea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ionică Bădilescu. The FC PIETROSUL -MM- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ionică Bădilescu should have stopped the shot. Ionică Bădilescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paul Mirea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juan Gaitan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dragoş Dancu in the 61st minute of play. In the 63rd minute FC PIETROSUL -MM- were awarded a corner. Viorel Iacobescu went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 65th minute of the match FC PIETROSUL -MM- got a corner. UM Timisoara's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Viorel Iacobescu ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Viorel Iacobescu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but UM Timisoara's Juan Gaitan did a great save. Juan Gaitan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciprian Halipa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 68 minutes UM Timisoara's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Viorel Iacobescu who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Nicolae Bosioc got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Juan Gaitan quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 69 minutes into the match, FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Viorel Iacobescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Juan Gaitan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ernest Oardă's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ionică Bădilescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Nicolae Bosioc sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Juan Gaitan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Cristi Ciprian got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 80thth minute of the game Paul Ghimpu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Ionică Bădilescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Juan Gaitan made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Cristi Ciprian sent off a good shot on target. Ionică Bădilescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leo Weterio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute Paul Mirea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ionică Bădilescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ionică Bădilescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paul Mirea in the 89th minute of play. Ernest Oardă received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Ionică Bădilescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, UM Timisoara's goal looked a bit too open when Viorel Iacobescu came free, but Juan Gaitan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juan Gaitan came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by FC PIETROSUL -MM-'s Viorel Iacobescu. But to his dismay, Viorel Iacobescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2.
