Vlad Ghionaru kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Juan Gaitan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciprian Alexe, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Allan Shearer in the 25th managed to get into a good position. Paul Mirea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Nistor Maghiar made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leo Weterio got free with Nistor Maghiar in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, UM Timisoara's Nistor Maghiar threw himself towards the right post 40 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Paul Ghimpu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 41 minutes into the match, Minerul Baita -MM-'s goal looked a bit too open when Paul Ghimpu came free, but Nistor Maghiar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee showed Ernest Oardă the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Minerul Baita -MM- booed when UM Timisoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernest Oardă didn't get a good kick on the ball. Allan Shearer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juan Gaitan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Nistor Maghiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paul Mirea in the 94th minute of the match. Albino Claude's late challenge caught a UM Timisoara's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Albino Claude helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of UM Timisoara booed when Minerul Baita -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albino Claude didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. UM Timisoara had played much better football throughout.
