The audience was convinced that Nazım Taci's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cătălin Trică was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. New York Red Bulls's Radu Jilăveanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pavel Mazăre in the 15th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nazım Taci in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cătălin Trică prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Radu Jilăveanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iustin Radovan in the 17th minute of the match. With a little luck, New York Red Bulls's Radu Jilăveanu got control of the ball when Ferdinand Arghiroiu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Radu Jilăveanu was a little too slow when Iustin Radovan got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 20th minute. The score was now 2-0. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by New York Red Bulls's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. David Zamfirescu was slow to take the kick. During this time Purcaresti CSS's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Purcaresti CSS's David Zamfirescu to fire away a dangerous shot which Radu Jilăveanu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 25th minute, Pavel Mazăre got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nistor Anton who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 30thth minute tested the skills of Radu Jilăveanu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Nistor Anton succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-0 in the 31st playminute. 41 minutes into the match, Purcaresti CSS's goal looked a bit too open when Nazım Taci came free, but Cătălin Trică reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 44 played minutes Pavel Mazăre rounded New York Red Bulls's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Iustin Radovan made a kick off. Purcaresti CSS's Pavel Mazăre got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nazım Taci in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cătălin Trică saved Purcaresti CSS from getting behind. 58 minutes into the match, New York Red Bulls's Nazım Taci sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cătălin Trică narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 60thth minute of the game Nistor Anton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but New York Red Bulls's Radu Jilăveanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nistor Anton in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Radu Jilăveanu saved New York Red Bulls from getting behind. Radu Jilăveanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Măliță, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Iustin Radovan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Radu Jilăveanu having to interfere. Cătălin Trică didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Benni Farbøl went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. 69 minutes into the game, Emanuel Encescu lined in a short shot 4-2 behind a frustrated Cătălin Trică. Radu Jilăveanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pavel Mazăre, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. 79 minutes into the match, New York Red Bulls's goal looked a bit too open when Iustin Radovan came free, but Radu Jilăveanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
