After 3 minutes, Jan Trzenzalski made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Continental Buzau's Radu Barbălată tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zheng Cheng Zheng got free with Emilian Feteanu in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zheng Cheng Zheng could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Emilian Feteanu made a huge save. 13 minutes into the match, Continental Buzau's goal looked a bit too open when Liviu Drăgan came free, but Radu Barbălată reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by Continental Buzau's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. David Cărtărescu was slow to take the kick. During this time Politehnica Iasi's players had a chance to rest. The supporters of Continental Buzau booed when Politehnica Iasi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorginho Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute Jiang Hong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilian Feteanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zheng Cheng Zheng got free with Emilian Feteanu in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Emilian Feteanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jiang Hong in the 24th minute of play. Zheng Cheng Zheng in the 25thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Emilian Feteanu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A hard shot 26 in the game by Zheng Cheng Zheng from a close distance when the talented Emilian Feteanu managed to make a qualified save. Politehnica Iasi's players were relieved. 28 minutes into the match, Politehnica Iasi's goal looked a bit too open when Zheng Cheng Zheng came free, but Emilian Feteanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Radu Barbălată stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jan Trzenzalski's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. If Zheng Cheng Zheng had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zheng Cheng Zhengs short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Emilian Feteanu to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Zheng Cheng Zheng was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 42nd minute. Continental Buzau's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a rather tough play, Politehnica Iasi's Jorginho Queiroz got a free kick in the 43rd minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Zheng Cheng Zheng made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Continental Buzau were awarded a corner. Moritz Regal went to the cornerflag to take it. Moritz Regal made a great header on Continental Buzau's corner, it was just that Politehnica Iasi's Emilian Feteanu managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Politehnica Iasi's goalkeeper Emilian Feteanu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Politehnica Iasi's Emilian Feteanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zheng Cheng Zheng in the 62nd minute of play. Emilian Feteanu came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Continental Buzau's Zheng Cheng Zheng. But to his dismay, Zheng Cheng Zheng quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Politehnica Iasi's Emilian Feteanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zheng Cheng Zheng in the 66th minute of play. When Continental Buzau's Zheng Cheng Zheng in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Politehnica Iasi's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Continental Buzau getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Anton Voitiş hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zheng Cheng Zheng in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emilian Feteanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Radu Barbălată showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorginho Queiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. In the 83rd minute Zheng Cheng Zheng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilian Feteanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the game, Politehnica Iasi's Jorginho Queiroz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Radu Barbălată made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. In the 88th minute Zheng Cheng Zheng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilian Feteanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th match minute, Politehnica Iasi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Trzenzalski to maneuver through the defense. Emilian Feteanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zheng Cheng Zheng's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Liviu Drăgan hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Sergiu Şimandan took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 93rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Emilian Feteanu. Politehnica Iasi's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Continental Buzau were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
