FC Izesti's Bogdan Stelea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cornel Poplăcan in the 9th minute of play. Gigel Tilea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cosmin Gâțea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gigel Tilea was out of position in the 13 minute of play, and Iurie Croitoru capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Iurie Croitoru really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Iurie Croitoru who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 16thth minute tested the skills of Gigel Tilea when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A hard shot 19 in the game by Iurie Croitoru from a close distance when the talented Gigel Tilea managed to make a qualified save. Academia Rio's players were relieved. In the 22nd minute there was a penalty for Academia Rio. Lucian Petriceanu stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bogdan Stelea. 2-1. Lucian Petriceanu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bogdan Stelea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Radu Păvăloae recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Izesti's Cosmin Gâțea slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gigel Tilea. That made the score 4-1 after 46 minutes of play.

Bogdan Stelea made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Sergiu Coșeriu sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Radu Păvăloae in the 59th minute of play forced FC Izesti's goalkeeper Bogdan Stelea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cezar Zmărăndache in the 65th minute of play forced Academia Rio's goalkeeper Gigel Tilea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gigel Tilea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iurie Croitoru, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Gigel Tilea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cezar Zmărăndache in the 68th minute of the match. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Izesti's goalkeeper Bogdan Stelea, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bogdan Stelea was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Radu Păvăloae showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 7-3 in the 87 minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iurie Croitoru in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gigel Tilea prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Academia Rio getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Jean Oltean hit a great ball. Gigel Tilea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iurie Croitoru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 94 minutes, Iurie Croitoru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Izesti's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iurie Croitoru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. FC Izesti had won after a very even match.
