The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Cristian Pârlea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tudor Buga hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladimir Plugaru in the 9th minute of play forced FC Truseni's goalkeeper Viorel Bunea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stefan Plesca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Pârlea in the 15th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, FC Haiduc Bumbata's goalkeeper Stefan Plesca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Pârlea. FC Haiduc Bumbata's Stefan Plesca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihail Postolache in the 18th minute of play. The supporters of FC Truseni booed when FC Haiduc Bumbata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgiliu Fratea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Florin Burduja hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Boris Castravet succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 25th playminute. In the 29th minute Mihail Postolache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stefan Plesca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 34 minutes, Boris Castravet managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Truseni's supporters crossed their fingers, but Boris Castravet was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Pârlea got free with Stefan Plesca in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Boris Castravet came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the FC Truseni fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Boris Castravet couldn't finish the play. Tudor Buga's late challenge caught a FC Haiduc Bumbata's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tudor Buga helped the player get up and apologised.

In the 51st minute, Mihail Postolache made a precise shot to the right of Stefan Plesca. FC Haiduc Bumbata's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Viorel Bunea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dan Inculet, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. A collision led to FC Haiduc Bumbata getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Nicu Triboi hit a great ball. FC Truseni walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
